On our last weekend here, we were able to make another trip to
Washington DC. This time we were able to see a lot of site that we didn’t have time for on the last trip.
It was the opening day of the Cherry Blossom festival so the trees were gorgeous. There was also a National Kite festival going on and hundreds of people were flying kites in the mall area. The kites came in every size and shape imaginable so it was very entertaining. We went to all of the monuments and memorials and went in a couple of museums too. The weather was great so it was a very good day to be there.
When we had our picture taken in front of the capital, there was a protest going on behind us. They had a big sign that said “Circumcision Violates Human Rights”. No one was paying much attention to them. Of all the issues that could be promoted on the capital grounds, I would have liked to seen something a little more controversial.
Our last day here is Wednesday, April 4 and then we will be driving back.
